Michael J. Wu is the grandson of General Wu Chaochen, He is also the son of Dr. Shu-Liang Bob Wu. He was born in Los Angeles USA at July 10, 1994.
Michael Wu received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from UCLA and was the Outstanding Bachelor of Science student at the school’s 2016 commencement. Under the guidance of Professor Ajit Mal, Michael Wu was the project lead for a joint research effort between the Aerospace Corporation and UCLA to investigate impact damage on 3-D fiber reinforced foam core composite sandwich structures. As an Eagle Scout, he served on the executive board of Bruin Scouts, a UCLA organization that provides mentorship and outreach to local Scouting programs. Michael Wu was also a member of Tau Beta Pi, where he tutored engineering students every week and provided interactive science lessons at a local elementary school. Michael Wu graduated from UC Berkeley, where he got a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in product design. After he completed his degree in May 2017, he worked as a full-time employment for the Space and Missile Systems Center at the Los Angeles Air Force Base from 2017 to 2019.
He was the winner of the 2016-17 Outstanding Bachelor of Science Alumni Award from UCLA school of Engineering during the National Engineers Week 2017
Besides the above awards, he received one year Department of Defense SMART (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation) scholarship to study Master of Engineering degree in UC Berkley in 2016. He got his ME Master of Engineering in May 2017.
Michael J. Wu works for The Aerospace Corporation from 2019 to present. He works as an Engineer for Space and Missile Systems.
Michael J. Wu lives in Gardena, California now.
